Manchester City Football Club is an English professional football club based in the city of Manchester. They are currently members of the English Premier League.
Originally formed in 1880 as St. Marks (West Gorton), they then became Ardwick A.F.C. in 1887 before changing their name to Manchester City F.C. in 1894. The club has won the League Championship twice, the FA Cup four times, the League Cup twice and the European Cup Winners Cup once. The club’s most successful period was during the late 1960s and early 1970s, when they won several major trophies under the management team of Joe Mercer and his assistant Malcolm Allison, and with great players such as Colin Bell and Francis Lee.
However, the club has not won a major honour since 1976. The club’s decline led to relegation twice in three years in the 1990s, meaning they spent one year in the third tier of English football. However, the club has since regained Premier League status, putting City back in the top flight, the division in which they have spent the majority of their history.

Counter steers, over steers, Donuts and Choku-Dori will be just some of the technical terms on the lips of spectators as they witness the adrenaline-pumping action of the Formula Drift Singapore 2010 Powered by Nissan when it returns to the Republic on 24 and 25 April 2010 at the F1 Pit Building.
Organisers ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) and DriftPac announced the event’s return on Thursday.
Spectators can expect a hair-raising experience as finalists burn up the course two-at-a-time, often only inches apart, featuring aggressive side-by-side action, nail-biting power slides and spectacular speed along a series of tight corners as powerful engines roar while tires bellow smoke.
The event has become a sporting calendar highlight, attracting regional interest and talent, as well as a record number of 45 drivers hailing from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand.
Japanese Champion and Top Formula DRIFT USA Pro Ryuji Miki will also be in town to add to the competitive edge of the drivers.

If you know anything at all about boxing, then you would know that the name Amir Khan is about to become as synonymous with boxing as it is with Bollywood. The prize boxer (Amir Khan spelled with one A), who almost a month ago had a first round knockout in about a minute, is one of the most fascinating raising Desi Stars of 2010. The British-Pakistani boxer is now sparring partners with Manny Pacquaio, which is sure to make him and even better fighter than he already is. However, the thing that fascinated me about him the most was all his charity work. Even though he beats people up for a living, he’s an awesome person who has helped many. In July 2006 Khan became involved in the No Messin’ campaign, which promotes child safety around British railways. After the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, Khan went to Pakistan and handed out food parcels to children in a camp. He has also raised more than £6,000 for a firefighter who was badly burned while trying to save a family from an arson attack in Bolton. He has spent £1 million of his own cash on opening the Gloves Community Centre and boxing gym in Bolton to get youths off the streets. Check out my interview with King Khan himself, who just recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions.

The 2009 GP2 Series got underway this weekend, with teams in action at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, for the first two races of the season. Andreas Zuber and Luiz Razia made their race debuts for the Fisichella Motor Sport International team.

Drivers hit the track for the first session of the 2009 campaign on Friday morning in a 30-minute free practice session ahead of the afternoon's qualifying. Heading into his fourth season of GP2, Zuber completed 14 laps of testing, setting a fastest time of 1:30.264 and finishing 18th fastest. Razia was one position behind on the timesheets after 11 laps, with a fastest time of 1:30.555.

The team made some positive changes ahead of qualifying to see Zuber shooting up the order in the all-important session, and setting himself up on the third row of the grid for Saturday's feature race. He set a fastest lap of 1:28.090 to record the fifth fastest time of the session. Razia set a best lap of 1:29.185 to line up 21st on the grid for Saturday's race.

In Saturday's 39-lap feature race, which took place on the Barcelona track after Formula 1 qualifying, Zuber made a very strong start, moving up from fifth into third position, and looking set for a great start to his FMSI career. Unfortunately a burst water pipe put an end to his hopes of a podium finish, forcing him into retirement on lap six. Razia had a strong and consistent race, crossing the line in 16th position, a five place improvement on his grid spot.

Razia began Sunday's 26-lap sprint race from 16th, with Zuber starting in 25th position. Razia had a strong race, moving up four positions from his starting spot to cross the line in 12th. Zuber moved up to 24th in the shorter race but his race unfortunately ended on lap eight after being hit by Roldan Rodriguez, suffering a puncture and damage that caused him to retire.

Paolo Coloni, Team Principal, FMSI: "We haven't been very lucky but we have shown good prospects this weekend. I'm very happy with the hard work we have done over the winter, the team performance this weekend and the combination of drivers. We have shown already how competitive we can be and I'm excited about the rest of the season. We'll go to Monaco in two weeks looking to score some strong points."

Back from dinner, we meet up with stylist Cheryl Horaney and take a few armfuls of designer dresses up to the suite for an informal fitting (aka, Fashion Show) with Christina, Jimin Kang and Stephanie Louden. Jan Butterfield, the LPGA's official skin care, hair and fashion consultant, is orchestrating the tangle of dresses, shoes and accessories.

With her brilliant personality and 20-pounds-lighter frame, Christina is a kid in a candy store and can only narrow down the myriad of choices to three. "I'll wear the others to the mailbox if I have to."

And she looks fantastic in her black, beaded gown, as did Stephanie Louden in her short, classic Vera Wang design. Jimin Kang bought an Armani for the occasion, but was swayed by our girlie "ooohs and aaahs" to switch to a black Versace dress that Cheryl had brought "just in case."

And here's where my blue eyes turn green, as I couldn't help but covet the opportunity to play dress up. I was starting to feel like Cinderella, pre-fairy-godmother. You know, all work and no play while the stepsisters (although those in my story are neither ugly nor evil) go to the ball.

Amidst the frenzy, Jan asked if I'd like to try on a dress "just for fun." Dear readers, if you ever find yourself in the same situation, just say no. Or, look at the price tag of said dress before stepping into the supple, designer fabric carefully tailored into intricate lines that compliment your frame immensely. I wanted to wear it to bed, to breakfast the next morning and on the plane home. Seriously.

This is coming from a girl who considers a purchase from the Banana Republic clearance rack a lavish treat (I'm not in sports PR for the money). So even with Cheryl's considerable insider discount, the perfect all-dressed-up-and-nowhere-to-go frock was out of my price range. Way out. In normal instances, that's not a bitter pill to swallow. But standing in a room full of Oscar after-party attendees preparing for the night of their lives, with shrieks of "you look awesome" cascading out the open door and into the hallway, I was jealous. There, I said it.
I briefly considered throwing down my MasterCard and rationalizing it as an "investment." But then my conscience stepped in (as well as my desire to actually eat for the next four months), and I went to bed. And I may or may not have shed a tear-both for my inability to fund my lavish appetite (champagne taste and a beer pocketbook, as my mom would say) and for the weakness of envy.

LPGA Tour Pictures&Wallpaper

That would be the correct Jeopardy answer, and potentially the perfect solution for the LPGA Tour.

Think about the impact that Anna Kournikova had on women's tennis, and she never won anything that mattered. Anna Rawson could be that impact player for the LPGA.

They have been begging for something like this. Natalie Gulbis is hot when she is walking around the course next to trolls, but put her on The Apprentice next to Brande Roderick, and suddenly she is ordinary at best.

Anna Rawson can match up pretty good with just about anyone.

The good people at GoDaddy.com know exactly what I am talking about which is why she is all over their new ad campaign.
